Christian education and the spiritual formation of young minds are achieved through a strong partnership between parents and committed, caring Christian teachers. At Eagle Ridge Christian School, that partnership is taken to heart. During these early formative years, innovative classroom techniques stimulate eager minds and foster the joy of learning in the core subject areas of reading, spelling, math, science, social studies, and Bible.
Curriculum is coordinated to help students make important learning connections among subject areas. The reading program is phonics based in kindergarten through second and literature-based blended with phonics in grades third through sixth. Limited class size allows each child to receive personalized attention and guidance by highly experienced teachers who strive to develop each student’s social, physical, and academic skills.
Elementary students at Eagle Ridge participate in a variety of curriculum-related field trips that instill a sense of excitement and allow for a deeper understanding of the subject area(s). Students have the opportunity to learn in context and engage in real world experiences. Library skills, physical education, fine arts, and technology integration are also integral programs that emerge during the elementary curriculum to encompass a well-rounded educational experience.
